After 7 whole years, the wait is finally over. The famous reality TV show Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) makes its return to our screens.
Gulder Ultimate Search (commonly known as GUS) is a Nigerian reality television show that was established and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc to promote Gulder Lager Beer. In 2004, the first season aired.
The GUS series is also Nigeria's first 100 percent local content reality television show, and it is a survival type reality show that highlights the struggle of Contestants (10–30 people, depending on the reference edition), their battles against themselves and the wild, i.e. nature, and their search for a hidden treasure that brings instant fame and fortune to the last person standing.
What you need to know about this year’s edition of the show:
The 11th season of the Gulder Ultimate Search will begin on September 26, according to a post on Saturday on the GUS official Instagram page, which included a video of the selection training procedure.
“The jungle calls as the search for the ultimate begins. Who are those that will heed to this call. 26.9.2021 – Follow and be ready for the journey,” the post read.
Kunle Remi, the season's taskmaster and a previous winner of the show, confirmed the start date on his Instagram stories.
The organizers had previously stated that the event, titled "The Age of Craftsmanship," would begin on October 16 and run through December 19 when the grande finale will hold.
The current statement, on the other hand, suggests that the show arrived earlier than expected.
Qualified applicants went through a regional selection process and bootcamp in Enugu, Abuja, and Lagos after the application process finished on September 10.
According to Sade Morgan, Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, creators, and sponsors of the performance, the organizing team has put everything in place to give the audience exactly what they love about the program.
“I am confident that everyone will be pleasantly surprised and delighted with what we have in store,” she added.
The show will air on DStv and other local stations across the country.
